  1. Good Day!

Hi! I am from the Philippines I am interested to let my daughter join your competition this coming September. My concern if will join just on that race day. It means we don’t have opportunity to win since we don’t have the points in each event contributed towards the Live More Kids Triathlon Series? based on your awards mechanics.
We want to know your response regarding this matter.

Anyway, if you still planning to have kids Aquathlon competition please could you inform us ahead a year before so that we the Filipinos can join your competition. We would like to join International competition and we are interested.
    Hoping your favorable response.

    Thank you very much!

    1. Hi Mylene,

First of all many thanks for your interest in registering your daughter in the Live More Kids triathlon series.

We are truly honored to have someone from the Philippines interested in our events. A primary reason for this is that Princess Galura and Fred Uytengsu of Sunrise events in the Philippines are personal friends of ours and are very much respected by us as event organisers of your own Alaska sponsored Ironkids events.

Secondly, we are really sorry for not replying to your message earlier as we did not receive a notification about the comments left on our website and will investigate the reasons for this to avoid any other instances like this in the future.

In response to your specific questions about qualification for winning of the series we can advise as follows…

Firstly, you are right to say that your daughter would most likely not be able to win the series (which this year consists of 7 events) as to do so she’d need to have the points from her 3 best results during the series and with the final event at Epsom College counting as double points one of these 3 races would really need to include this one on 12 November.

As you’ll appreciate whilst we would welcome your daughters presence along with any other overseas participant at anyone of these individual events I’m afraid to say that unless she were able to do more than the one event therefore she’ll not earn enough points to have a chance of being crowned overall series champion, as the “mechanics” of the points system are designed to reward those that race with us regularly throughout the year and who attend our grand finale event at the end of the year.

That said, as well as competing for the series championship, we still maintain each race as a “stand alone” event. This means that as well as Finishers Medals and event Tee Shirts being awarded for each participant, there are also trophies presented to each of the Top 3 finishers in each age category at all 7 events in the series, including the Aquathon that you are planning on attending at ISKL in September.

I hope that this response and reassurance of the rewards available at the individual events as well as confirmation of how the overall series works and why it’s set up this way, adequately addresses your concerns and reservations and will be sufficient to entice you and your daughter to come and attend this event and to bring with you as many of your Filipino friends as are able to join you.

As for our plans for next year (2018) it is certainly our intention to continue with these events. We are also planning to run camps and skills clinics too. Additionally, we are presently exploring how we can introduce an ‘elite’ category so that there can be a greater challenge and heightened level of competition for the faster more experienced children. Part of this would be to try and attract and encourage other children from across the region like the Philippines and, who knows, to even have some sort of regional series that the children could participate in as a stepping stone towards national selection and participation in the ITU sanctioned ASTC events like the recent one in Subic Bay.

Our intention is to have these dates and plans for next year finalised by the last event in November of this year and if you follow us on Facebook you should see these dates and plans announced here.

Thanks again for your interest and we hope to be able to welcome you to Malaysia in September at our ISKL event.

      With warmest wishes

      The Live More Team

    1. Yes Chew. However please do note that for U8 and above categories, the kids will NOT be entitled to podium prizes if any floating devices / training wheels are used in the race.
